Twelve in attendance. Lots of new folks trying to decide where they want to do service work at committee level. Alt chair is going to email info to them all and they will return in December with their decision and we will order treatment kits for them. Lots of discussion on putting together a treatment committee together at district level.

District 4 had a meeting with a local treatment center to start AA meeting in facility. Also talking about putting on a workshop. District 12 shared experience. District 12 discussed treatment center meeting which is going on third year and meetings are growing. We get them working steps right away.

Eight in attendance. Three new. Talked about Dist. 12 how they got their committee going. Doug H explained and will email information to Randy. Workshop – March 2011. Geared toward professionals. All day workshop, great contact list made, all committees made presentations to professionals (CPC, PI, Treatment etc.) Gen co. got on same page with professihnals – what AA is and what AA is not. Gen County has three treatment center meetings per week. District 4 has set up committee meeting, 2x has changed date. Randy from district 4 will be alternate chair.

Four present. District 4 forming a committee and is looking for new members. District 8 maintaining Bridging the Gap and Big Book study at Brighton Hospital (3-step). District 12 maintaining meetings at three treatment centers. Also working with Alanon on a workshop on September 27-28. Soberfest booth for the day.

Reported to be going well at last Dist 8 business meeting. Area 32 chair continuing weekly meeting at
Brighton Center for Recovery Men’s Henderson house. Staying in contact with the AA Bridging the Gap International
Committee gathering info on treatment programs. District 12 reports Bridging the Gap meetings: New Paths Women’s,
New Path’s Men’s and Odyssey House. Working on Salvation Army. Now has a treatment center. These meetings are held
once per week, not open to public, only by invitation by treatment committee. Meetings are large in turnout. District 4:
Heron Valley Intergroup and District 4 is taking a Bridging the Gap meeting into the VA Hospital once per week.

(1) from District 13. District 4 works primarily in VA. District 12 is Flint area. Bridging the Gap is going strong. Now
have a number 211 which vets coming home with alcohol problems can call: housing, medical, food, disabilities. Est
access to resources center. Open house this Thurs. April 11 in Flint near Hurley Fitness. Salvation Army now has
treatment center. Treatment center meetings going strong: i.e. New Paths, Odessey.

Area Chair: contacted Bridging the Gap Committee in regards to workshop in Shaumburg, IL on September 6-8, 2013. Planning on attending.
District 8 chairs restructured the Bridging the Gap program being held at Brighton Center for Recovery.
Treatment has been asked to speak every Wednesday from 1:00-2:30 at the Brighton Center for Recovery men's Henderson House. It has been going very well in the past six weeks.
District 8 chairs have started a new Big Book Study Group on Thursday nights 7:30-8:30 for the patients in Brighton Center for Recovery.
Area 32 chair has been contacted by District 16 in regards to treatment meeting that are now in place at the 1016 facility in Midland and Mt. Pleasant, also about a Bridging the Gap program as well as coming up to speak about Bridging the Gap and Treatment.
District 12 chair: New Paths, men's/women's treatment meeting going well; Odyssey House meeting going well also.
District 12 is also working on a verterans committee for returning vets at the Veterans Resource Center.
District 18: AA reps sat in and explained about the two meetings a week they have at the Dot Caring Center. We helped them understand the importance of meeting and affiliation along with Bridging the Gap program to them with assistance.

At today's meeting, the district representatives shared their experiences. In District 8, there will be
two workshops at Brighton Center for Recovery about staying sober through the holidays; the
committee is working with the new district chair for updates. In District 12, there are three
Treatment Committee meetings running successfully: New Paths women’s meeting, New Paths
men's meeting, and the Odyssey House men and women meeting. Also, the rack for literature
purchased by CMIA 32 for New Paths is continuing to be maintained by the District 12 committee.
The Midland and Mt. Pleasant areas of District 20 expressed interest in the Area Committee's

Chair received updated contact information from Areas 33, 34, and 74; as well GSO sent contact
list for the United States for Area, H & I, and Bridging the Gap. The Bridging the Gap Program
proceeds at Brighton Center for Recovery (BCR) in District 8; AA members are working with staff
to speak at both halfway houses. Coordination occurred recently with District 4 and HVAI

There was news to report from two districts. District 4 will host a service workshop that will
include the treatment chair. Ted T. of District 4 has been gathering information about starting a
Bridging the Gap program. The Bridge the Gap program that has run in District 8 since April is
still doing well. Panels of AA members chosen by the Treatment Facility Committee speak every
other week at the Brighton Center for Recovery. The committee also coordinates with the men's
and women's halfway houses at the same facility to run speaker meetings and maintain literature.

District 12 went to Crossroads Village Info Fair for the Vets, where there was a good turnout for AAs and Veterans. Informational Pamphlets were distributed and service work was discussed with one interested party. Committee members have been working with Area Website and PI Committees

District 12 is still working on the Bridging the Gap program. District 26 received a call
from the Treatment Committee in District 28 for a referral for a female contact. District 6
is starting to re-establish a district separate from the Lansing Central Office; Steve D. is
the Treatment Facilities chair. In District 26, Annie is looking to get more AA
involvement in their facility.

District 4 news: Ted T. is the new TF Chair and was given a TF kit.
District 8 news: currently assembling a TF committee; first meeting was Sept. 30th; ideas
are being gathered to garner further interest
District 12 news: every Thursday at noon, there is an introduction to AA for newcomers
meeting; forms were handed out to GSRs to compile a list of volunteers for Bridging the
Gap; we also have an updated list of all treatment facilities in the Flint area.

Discussed “Bridge the Gap” & learned that Area 33 offers a tie between Treatment Facilities and AA
meetings. A District 12 member discussed their "Introduction to AA" informal meeting. The group
addressed newcomer welcome packets, letters to professionals, and thanks CMIA 32 for the Treatment
